Pioneer just dropped a teaser on what looks like its next generation flagship CDJ. Pioneer DJ – An Evolution. As a CDJ-2000 user, I’m absolutely excited. Based on what I’ve seen, this new CDJ might have the following key features:
- Multi-deck sync. There was a “Master” button as well as a “Master” indicator under the BPM display. Laidback Luke also commented on “staying on time”.
- Wireless. I think this is a given based on Pioneer’s recently announced XDJ-Aero.
- Zoomable single colour waveform display.
- Pads/buttons that launch samples.
The most curious comment was from Armin Van Buuren: “I can really now see what I’m doing like records back in the day.” I wonder if this means a better display on the jog wheel.
