Congratulations to Joey and Sandra.  This Filipino and Vietnamese wedding was held at the Eagles Nest Golf Club.  Eagles Nest is a beautiful golf and country club nestled in Vaughan (Dufferin/Major Mackenzie).  The venue looked really grand – from the large doors to the solid looking brick walls.  We had the wedding reception at the Great Hall.  Two sides of this room were made of glass so offered a spectacular view of the green.  There’s lots of natural light – sometimes too much as you can see in some of the photos below.  But still a gorgeous venue nonetheless.

Two Wedding MC’s close to the Bride and Groom set the tone for the evening with 3 Owls supporting them all the way.  We then took charge when it was time to party!  Music was mostly Top 40, Hip-hop, and 90s House music.

This wedding was a blast and everyone had a great time.  Enjoy the pics below.

Lechon

What’s a Filipino event without LECHON? Lechon was served during cocktails. This makes for a really filling appetizer.

Menu

This is a glimpse of dinner. Pictures of the actual food below. I couldn’t resist.

Centrepiece

The centrepiece. This picture didn’t do it justice. Those stems extend far beyond the length of the bouquet. It looked magnificent against the Great Hall’s high ceilings.

Mom's placecard

We’re all close to mom. She has a special place at the head table this evening.

This salad was fresh and was complemented by a French garlic toast.

Eagles Nest Wedding-Sandra Joey-13

Lobsters were plentiful at this wedding. Mine were battered and fried to perfection. The coating on the outer shell was crispy and tasty while the meat inside remained moist.

Steak dinner

The groom, Joey, asked me what I thought about the food. I responded by saying the nice juicy steak was an excellent comeback to the lobsters. I then saw a chicken breast tucked under the vegetables. I bet a lot of people had their belts loose after this one.

Head table with glare from the sun.

This is the head table on the north side of the room. The sun sets north west so expect a lot of glare during the summer months. Eagles Nest had motorized window shades that we had to drop to make the projector video pop.

Eagles Nest Wedding Projector

It’s around 8pm and the shades are still down. The sun’s still too bright for the projector. The motorized shades were a nice touch.

Open bar at Eagles Nest

Everyone’s lining up to get some booze from the open bar.

First Dance

The Bride and Groom’s First Dance. The medley was expertly mixed by yours truly.

Dance Floor packed.

Started playing some oldies. The crowd loved Shout by the Isley Brothers. I don’t get to play this song much so it’s nice to get it into rotation once in awhile.

Eagles Nest Wedding - slow dancing on the dance floor

Slow dancing to get the crowd to regain their energy. This is great for couples to have some “alone” time too.

Eagles Nest Wedding - The money dance

The money dance is a tradition where guests pin money on the bride and groom then dance with them.
