I went to a La Salle school so it was a blast from the past when Caitlin & Adam hired me to perform at their wedding.  The Heritage House of De La Salle Oaklands is a great venue for couples who like a more intimate and historic feel.  There are lots of open green space as well as intricate mouldings around the area.  The parking lot is huge (and free!) and the venue is also steps away from the TTC.  That’s pretty rare for a venue close to downtown Toronto.

We were supposed to have an outdoor ceremony behind the Heritage House.  This was a perfect spot with a view of the CN Tower across Toronto’s skyline.  The weather didn’t cooperate so we ended up doing it indoors instead.

Dinner was served at the main dining hall.  It’s a fairly small room that fits about 9 round tables (~120 people).  The intimate setting was great as you get to see and interact with your closest friends and family.  There wasn’t any space for dance floor, though.  So we had to remove two tables at the end of dinner to make room for one.  Because of this limitation, you won’t have much choice but to do the First Dance, Mother & Son, and Father & Daughter dances towards the end of dinner.

We had a fantastic evening!  We played a mix of old school rock & roll, R&B, and Top 40 hits.  The guests had excellent taste in music so their requests really blended well in the evening.
